Global Positioning System - GPS

A great travel tool when renting a car is getting a GPS (Global Posioning Sytem). Costa Rica is well known not only for its natural beauty, also for its awful road conditions: Route numbers are very rarely used on road signs in Costa Rica, although there are frequent signs listing the number of kilometers to various towns and cities. It´s always a good idea to have GPS when renting a car, specially if this is your first time driving in Costa Rica.

Tips

Every car rental in Costa Rica offfer GPS. Prices are between $5 to $12 per day.
If you wanto to buy the GPS the price is $399.00 plus the Costa Rica Map software.
If you have your own GPS and just need to install the map, the cost for this software is $149.00
If you need the Software only for few days you can rent it: 10 days $59.00 or 30 days $99.00
