Intercultura Costa Rica Spanish School offers a series of 18 Spanish courses designed by curriculum specialists, using interactive small groups in an environment of total immersion in Latin American culture. Classes are 4 hours per day, Monday to Friday. Our professors are university trained and credentialed to teach Spanish as a second language. We give all teachers further instruction on teaching in the context of total cultural immersion.
Where we are / our Campus Location
City Campus – Heredia Costa Rica
Nestled in the heart of Heredia Costa Rica, Intercultura’s central location within the city gives students easy access on foot to shops, entertainment and transportation. At the same time, the tranquility and natural beauty of the mountains is only a few minutes away by taxi or bus. In the downtown area students are usually no more than a 5 minute walk from a variety of services, including: sports center and Olympic-size swimming pool, Internet cafés, gyms, bars, restaurants, discotheques, the National University’s theatre and grounds, the post office, banks, clinics and travel agencies.
Beach Campus / Samara Beach Costa Rica
Intercultura offers classes year-round at its brand new, beachfront campus in Samara Beach, Guanacaste. All students have the option to study at the beach: when you register, simply state the dates of the weeks you will be in Heredia and those you will be in Samara Beach, Costa Rica. We highly recommend the beach campus, as it offers a glimpse of rural life in Costa Rica very different from that in the cities. Due to the town’s small size, students quickly come to know the local population and to feel at home in this warm and welcoming ‘pueblo’. The school itself is the only accredited Spanish immersion school in Costa Rica that is right on the beach…there is no road between us and the ocean! Apart from the beautiful beach itself, students may visit nearby Nicoya, the colonial capital of the region, or the indigenous areas where traditional ceramics and art still flourish. For those students who wish to stay longer, volunteer opportunities are available.
Spanish Programs
The primary goal of Intercultura is to teach you the Spanish language in a warm yet intellectually challenging environment. Classes at both our Heredia city campus and Sámara
beach campus are conducted entirely in Spanish, providing students from all over the world with a complete and intensive learning experience.
Intercultura’s professors have advanced university degrees and teaching certification, and we are accredited through the US university system, offering undergraduate
academic credit to those interested. In addition, you have the opportunity to come to know Costa Rica, its traditions and its rich cultural heritage by participating in our daily
cultural activities and
events.
