Samara Beach Nicoya Guanacaste
Samara Beach is a beachfront community that is growing in popularity - for very good reasons. Its wide beach is protected by rock promontories at either end and an offshore reef, which makes it good for snorkeling. It offers safe swimming in warm shallow without rough surf. During the dry season, Ticos who own summer homes flock here, altough it never gets crowded. And during the off-season, the beach feels deserted, despite the fact that the town in right there behind the palms. Another attractive reason for staying near Samara is that the road is paved all the way into the town. Good, reasonably prices hotels also help. There are a few small grocery and loquor stores in town.
South from town the highway becomes a dirt road and snakes back to the beach where numerous hotels hide on the right. The next beach south again is the wide picturesque Playa Carrillo, lined by rows of palms.
